Through our exchange program you will receive an equivalent instrument in fully overhauled and certified (OHC) condition. To complete the exchange you must return a repairable core within 30 days. The core must have the same part number as the exchanged unit and a legible, original nameplate. If the return core is not repairable, we will let you know and offer the exchange to you at the outright sale price or at the cost to replace the core with a factory-new unit.
Units under the original manufacturer’s warranty do not qualify for exchange, but may be eligible for warranty repair with original manufacturer’s approval. We strive for immediate, off-the-shelf availability to support customers in providing fast service to the end-user. Exchanges incur no additional charge above a standard overhaul. Returned instruments are completely overhauled, tested, and recertified before being placed back in our exchange pool.
If no exchange is available or you prefer to keep the original unit, we can overhaul it for you. Overhauls are fully reconditioned and all damaged or worn parts are replaced. We take pride in reducing turnaround time to a minimum. If a part is not readily available, we will notify you immediately of any expected delay.
Standard overhaul service includes FAA compliance and functional testing that exceeds industry norms. Returned instruments are billed a recertification fee since the unit will require new FAA work orders, complete functional testing, and inspection. You should inform the aircraft owner that actual costs for such returns are unavoidable and billed at 15% of the exchange fee, or higher for complex remote gyros. Call our customer service at 800-821-1212 (Kansas) or 1-800-345-7599 (California) to explain the need for a return and we will give you advance notice of the expected cost.
Because of our commitment to a superior product, we do not offer refunds on improperly packaged, mishandled or used instruments, or contaminated gyros. Instruments are fragile and must be handled with care. Change filters and clean air systems regularly for extended unit life.
For exchange units, you’ll need to specify:
Carefully pack instruments in sturdy cartons with suitable shock-absorbing material. Use soft foam inserts only, not foam peanuts, bubble wrap or newsprint. To minimize potential damage, ship via Federal Express, Air Freight or UPS. Avoid shipping gyros by parcel post.
Please specify both payment and shipping method when you first contact us. You may ship to either of our two locations. Include details of the unit malfunction in the shipment and indicate which type of repair: overhaul or exchange. Note the return freight method you prefer and provide a contact name with phone number. Shipping charges are the customer’s responsibility.
All shipments are FCA (Shipping Point). We make every effort to prevent shipping damage, and utilize the fastest, economical shipping method unless you request otherwise. To prevent unnecessary costs and delays, inspect all shipments immediately and report any damage to the carrier. You are responsible for completing all claims and collecting reimbursements.
We are able to obtain shipping discounts from major shipping carriers due to our volume purchasing power. In order to help defray costs to our customers, we may be able to pass a portion of that freight discount to you.
Catalog prices are dealer net for an overhauled and certified (OHC) exchange. An exchange depends on availability and customer preference. Note that prices are in U.S. dollars, before customs duties or freight, and subject to change without notice.
With an approved customer account we offer net 30-day terms. We accept check or money orders if sent with your order, or you can arrange for cash-on-delivery (COD) or payment by credit card. Take care with COD shipments to make sure someone is available to receive them: if refused and returned, you’ll be required to cover all shipping and handling.
We stand behind our work. Your satisfaction is the cornerstone of our business. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, let us know. For assistance, contact a customer service representative at either of our two locations.
We warranty all exchanges and overhauls for one (1) year or eight hundred (800) hours of operation, whichever occurs first. Repairs include a 90-day limited warranty. All gyro products have a maximum six (6) months shelf life. Units held in storage should be exercised every six (6) months to insure unit performance when installed. We will repair or replace a defective unit under warranty once the unit is returned and we verify the malfunction. After repair or replacement, items under warranty retain the unused portion of the original warranty.
We warrant that all articles we furnish will conform to applicable specifications at time of shipment and be free from defects in workmanship and in materials we replace. Our obligation will be limited to replacement of repair. Except for a warranty of title and the warranty set forth above, no other warranties, express or implied, or other obligations or liabilities shall apply. In no event will seller be liable for any incidental damages, consequential damages, special damages, indirect damages, loss of profits, loss of revenues, or loss of use, even if informed of the possibility of such damages, seller’s liability for damages arising out of or relating to a product or order is limited to the lower of catalog or contract price for the specific product that gives rise to the claim. To the extent permitted by applicable law, these limitations and exclusions will apply regardless of whether liability arises from breach of contract, warranty, tort (including but not limited to negligence), by operation or law, or otherwise.
We will repair units under the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) warranty if we are an authorized repair station for the specific manufacturer. Otherwise you must contact the original manufacturer for warranty claims if needed.
This limited service is only available when a unit is being serviced by us or if an exchange is not available. It is not a general rental or loaner program; other restrictions do apply.
When available, we offer loaner instruments at 30% of the exchange cost per month, with a one-month minimum. A deposit amount is first invoiced at the exchange price, with credit for return based on the unit’s condition when shipped back. Signs of improper handling or installation will incur repair charges in addition to the monthly rate. After receipt of your serviced unit you have two weeks to return the loaner.
